RACES OF THE THE FALLEN ANGELS – Nephilim – Anunnaki – Giants

The Fallen Angels & Nephilim

The “Sons of God” and the Nephilim

“As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man” –Matthew 24:37

Who are the “sons of God” discussed in Genesis 6? Where did the giants of old come from, and where did they go? Why did God need to flood the Earth? And how does this all fit into Biblical prophecy?

Pastor Jim Staley goes to great length using the scriptures, the writings of Josephus, and the extra-biblical books of antiquity to uncover exactly who the “sons of God” are, who the “Nephilim” are, and how it all relates to the End of Days. This teaching pulls together Greek mythology, the La Azazel goat of Yom Kippur, fallen angels, roaming evil spirits, and even aliens. Not only is this teaching on-the-edge-of-your-seat fascinating, but it is also based in scripture and riddled with historical facts.

The Books of Enoch: The Angels, the Watchers and the Nephilim (with Extensive Commentary on the Three Books of Enoch, the Fallen Angels by Joseph B. Lumpkin(Author)

The well known and acclaimed work of Dr. Joseph Lumpkin has been enlarged to include new research on the Books of Enoch, Fallen Angels, the Watchers, and the Nephilim. After presenting extensive historical backgrounds and brilliant translations of The First, Second, and Third Books of Enoch, Lumpkin takes time to piece together a historical narrative of Fallen Angels, the Watcher, and the Nephilim, using his extensive knowledge of ancient texts. The history of the Fallen Angels is sewn tightly together using such books as Enoch, Jasher, Jubilees, The Book of Giants, The War Scrolls, and many others. The story will astonish you. – – – New information on the First Book of Enoch is greatly expanded. Lumpkin describes the Calendar of Enoch and its pivotal place in the prophecy of Daniel. He takes First Enoch apart, section-by-section to describe its history, the time frame of authorship, and its contents. Copious notes are included throughout. – – – This volume, containing The First Book of Enoch (The Ethiopic Book of Enoch), The Second Book of Enoch (The Slavonic Secrets of Enoch), The Third Book of Enoch (The Hebrew Book of Enoch), and The Book of Fallen Angels, The Watchers, and the Origins of Evil. Expanded Commentary is included for the three books of Enoch, as well as the sections on Angels, Prophecies and the Enochian Calendar. These sources are found here, all in a single source.

Book of Enoch: Chapter 6-8

”And Semjaza, who was their leader,…”

1 And it came to pass when the children of men had multiplied that in those days were born unto 2 them beautiful and comely daughters. And the angels, the children of the heaven, saw and lusted after them, and said to one another: ‘Come, let us choose us wives from among the children of men 3 and beget us children.’ And Semjaza, who was their leader, said unto them: ‘I fear ye will not 4 indeed agree to do this deed, and I alone shall have to pay the penalty of a great sin.’

And they all answered him and said:’Let us all swear an oath, and all bind ourselves by mutual imprecations 5 not to abandon this plan but to do this thing.’ Then sware they all together and bound themselves 6 by mutual imprecations upon it. And they were in all two hundred; who descended in the days of Jared on the summit of Mount Hermon, and they called it Mount Hermon, because they had sworn 7 and bound themselves by mutual imprecations upon it. And these are the names of their leaders: Samlazaz, their leader, Araklba, Rameel, Kokablel, Tamlel, Ramlel, Danel, Ezeqeel, Baraqijal, 8 Asael, Armaros, Batarel, Ananel, Zaq1el, Samsapeel, Satarel, Turel, Jomjael, Sariel. These are their chiefs of tens.

Chapter 8

”And Azazel taught men to make swords, and knives,..”

1 And Azazel taught men to make swords, and knives, and shields, and breastplates, and made known to them the metals of the earth and the art of working them, and bracelets, and ornaments, and the use of antimony, and the beautifying of the eyelids, and all kinds of costly stones, and all 2 colouring tinctures. And there arose much godlessness, and they committed fornication, and they 3 were led astray, and became corrupt in all their ways. Semjaza taught enchantments, and root-cuttings, ‘Armaros the resolving of enchantments, Baraqijal (taught) astrology, Kokabel the constellations, Ezeqeel the knowledge of the clouds, Araqiel the signs of the earth, Shamsiel the signs of the sun, and Sariel the course of the moon. And as men perished, they cried, and their cry went up to heaven . . .

The Fallen angels that were cast out of heaven & the 200 Angels that descended upon Mount Hermon, turned their eyes on the daughters of man and fell into sin. They came in unto them and they bore children called the Nephilim.

The Fallen Angels mating with the daughters of men

The Fallen Angels mating with the daughters of men was controversial and eventually censored by the early church fathers of Christianity due to the impending celibacy of monks. However, it has survived through Jewish rabbincal traditions and is mentioned by historians and biblical writings in the Christian canon.

*The apocryphal texts are not to be taken as biblical canon. However understanding the history of ancient Jewish teaching helps us gain a broader picture of what may have happened. Some of the missing or grey information(stories) in the bible can be illuminated by some non canonized sources which are not exclusively ‘inspired texts’ but still hold some validity to them. *

The Book of Enoch

*It is important to note that these teachings were widely spread, accepted by the early church fathers up until the 4th century. (due to celibacy of monks and angel worship) Also the Book of Enoch was not accepted into biblical canon partly because of its controversial teaching of angels. In the end whether you believe in it or discard it as a whole is irrelevant, what really matters is that you have the saving faith in Jesus Christ.*

Most of the Nephilim were cannibalistic, vicious and greatly feared for their size and strength. The Nephilim spread rapidly and both man and giant were full of corruption. The Nephilim were intended to wipe out the bloodline of God, and God saw no other way but to cleanse the earth of its evil. After the Great Global Flood, 200 angels descended upon Mount Hermon to teach man righteousness.

The Books of Enoch: The Angels, the Watchers and the Nephilim (with Extensive Commentary on the Three Books of Enoch, the Fallen Angels,

Instead they fell into sin with the daughters of man after taking on the form of flesh. They gave birth to the Seed of the Serpent again, teaching man all sorts of forbidden arts. They produced Giants that inhabited and roamed the earth, the Nephilim even occupied the Promised land. In the Old Testament, they were called Anakims, Raphaims, Zamzumims. Many ancient Jewish sources tell us about the fall of the Angels in heaven and the ones who fell coming upon the earth.

It is written:
And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. Genesis 3.15

This was a prophecy of Gods bloodline triumphing over satans offspring. It firs signified David whom God chose to slay the remnants of the Nephilim in the natural(flesh) and it was Jesus who would later conquer the Spiritual Giants of sin(spiritual)on the hill of Golgatha. This is also where the Philistine Goliaths skull was believed to be buried hundreds of years before by David.(Golgatha means Hill of the Skull in Hebrew and is interpreted in 2 ways, hill where the skull of Goliath and possible Adam and or the shape of a skull on one side of the hill)

Josephus the famous Jewish Roman Historian talked about the remains of the Nephilim that were on public display in his time. He says that it was common understanding that Giants previously inhabited the world during his time. These Giants stood from 10 to sometimes 30 feet in height, some Nephilim had 6 fingers and 6 toes. Some Nephilim had 2 rows of teeth on both the upper and lower jaw. Famous excavations and discoveries of Giants have been found all over the world, most notably in Ireland, USA, Canada, Europe and all over the Middle East. Native Indian tribes wrote down the account of Red headed double rowed Nephilim that were wild and canabilistic. The tribe eventually stood up against them and set fire to a cave they inhabited, as a result they died, modern day authorities searched the cave finding accurate remains from the accounts of the native tribes. Many legends and myths that we have today are adoptions and variations of the original stories of the fallen angels on Mount Hermon. The Bible and another ancient Jewish sources reveal to us that after death the Nephilim become just spirits, possibly the demonic spirits that inhabit the spiritual realm of earth today.

Why Would Satan Do This?

Genesis 6

King James Version (KJV)

6 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

“Forbidden Archaeology”

Here’s one for your “Forbidden Archaeology” file.Scientists are remaining stubbornly silent about a lost race of giants found in burial mounds near Lake Delavan, Wisconsin, in May 1912. The dig site at Lake Delavan was overseen by Beloit College and it included more than 200 effigy mounds that proved to be classic examples of 8th century Woodland Culture. But the enormous size of the skeletons and elongated skulls found in May 1912 did not fit very neatly into anyone’s concept of a textbook standard. They were enormous. These were not average human beings.

The offspring from this illicit union between angels and human women were giants who “became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.” (Genesis 6) The fact that they were giants, is also proof in and of itself that their parentage was superhuman. But these giants were evil. Having been born of corrupted, Satanic angels they dominated the Earth and filled it with violence. It is also interesting to note that the Bible calls them “men of renown.” The Hebrew word here, shem, refers to being famous and legendary. It is as if the Bible is indicating that when the reader hears of legends of “demigods”, titans or legendary heroes who were part god, that this is who those “myths” were referring to. These were ‘men’ of superhuman ability and strength. In addition to causing violence and sin in the world, the Nephilim were also corrupting the human bloodline.

After the sin of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden God pronounced a judgment on Satan:

And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:  And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. – Genesis 3:14-15.

This pronouncement was historic. God proclaimed that the means by which Satan would ultimately punished and destroyed would be through the seed of the woman. (It must be remembered at this point that our enemy, Satan is a far older, and vastly more powerful and evil being, so this prophecy was a serious pronouncement). A human woman would give birth to a male child who would one day destroy the Devil. This was the first prophecy of the coming Messiah, Jesus Chris. Satan was put on notice. From then on he set out to corrupt or destroy an God-fearing child as that could potentially be the prophesied Redeemer. To no surprise the first Godly child born, Abel, was killed by his wicked brother Cain. Cain was banished and Adam and Eve bore another son Seth. At his birth Eve declared: “For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.” – (Genesis 4:25).

As more God-fearing sons began to populate the Earth, Satan instituted his Nephilim plan into action. By corrupting the seed of the woman, Satan could prevent the birth of the Messiah, who of course, had to be human and not part fallen angel. Satan wants the Word of God to fail but he knew that in addition to the woman, God prophesied that Satan too would have a “seed” (v. 15). Thus the Nephilim were an attempt to thwart God’s plan of salvation for humanity. At every step, the Nephilim giants, via their evil angelic parentage, sought to undermine or undo what God had set out for humanity to be reconciled to Him. In their dominance of the Earth, they reproduced so rapidly, God proclaimed that all flesh on the Earth had become corrupted. They dominated the Earth with war, bloodshed and their pagan religion (which will be covered in Part 2 of this series).

The Nephilim giants spread violence and sin that: “God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” Humanity was on the verge of being wiped out with no hope of being saved from sin if every person born became part fallen angel. Thus God judged the Earth with the flood.

The Purpose of the Flood in Noah’s Day

Rather than being an act of cruelty, the Flood was God’s way of saving the last of humanity from complete destruction.

Many pastors, Bible scholars and Bible skeptics alike view the flood as God’s way of dealing with humanity after humanity just sinning too much. However, with all due respect, this is a very simplistic way of looking at the flood. After all, today’s society is just as corrupt and depraved, if not far worse than any era before (more people have been killed in war in the past century than in the prior 900 years). So why would such a global judgment only happen in Noah’s day? The answer is that there were far more complex issues going on in the days of Noah then just humans sinning.

The flood served 3 chief purposes: 1) To destroy the Nephilim giants. 2) To punish the angels who committed the illicit relations with women and make an example of them so that no other angels would ever attempt this again and 3) to save humanity from certain destruction.

Much more than the “over-reaction by an angry God” as skeptics like to paint it, the flood was God’s way of preserving the human race and its bloodline, before it became completely corrupted by the Nephilim giants. This is an important point: many people today point to the flood as “proof” that God is cruel and angry with humanity all the time, and willing to just kill millions of people in genocide on a whim. However the Biblical truth was that God sent the flood to preserve humanity and to make sure we could still receive the promised Redeemer who could save our souls. Without Jesus Christ, there is no hope. There is no future. There is no forgiveness. Meaning every person would spend eternity in hell. The flood was God’s way to keep that hope for all people.

But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

Noah was chosen to carry on and re-start humanity after the flood because he was a believer in God. Additionally he was “perfect in his generations” which meant that his genetic bloodline and ancestry was 100% human. Noah had not been a part of the Nephilim hybridization that was plaguing humanity. The Hebrew word for “perfect” in that verse is tamiym, which means “complete, whole” with reference to health and physical condition. This is the same word used to describe the condition of animal sacrifices to the Lord:

And whosoever offereth a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the LORD to accomplish his vow, or a freewill offering in beeves or sheep, it shall be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no blemish therein. – Leviticus 22:21.

Thus Noah, his three sons and their wives were able to survive the flood and re-start humanity. But unfortunately, the Nephilim giants returned.

Nephilim Giants After The Flood

Noah and his family survived the flood. But the Nephilim gene came with them.

“ There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that…” — Genesis 6:4

The verse above makes it clear that Nephilim giants returned after the flood. Now nowhere in scripture is it again written that angels ever cohabited and/or had relations with human women after the flood. Genesis 6 was the only instance of this. So how did the Nephilim return? How could this have happened? The Bible holds the answer:

And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.  And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood. –Genesis 7:6-7.

While Noah and his sons were 100% human, we are not told the same about the wives of his 3 sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth. What is clear is that one or more of these women were carrying the Nephilim gene. This is the source of the post-flood Nephilim. Nowhere in the Bible is it ever stated that angels once again cohabited with human women.

The first time Nephilim giants are mentioned by name after the flood is in Numbers 13 after the Exodus in which Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt to go to God’s designated Promised Land. Moses sent 12 spies to scout out the land in advance. 2 of the spies, Caleb and Joshua spoke of the land in glowing terms and urged the Israelites to enter and rightfully claim the land God had promised them. But the other 10 spies had a different opinion:

And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.  But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we. 32 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.  And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight. – Numbers 13:31-33.

We will discuss this extremely important passage in much more detail below but a few things should be noted. First off the giants living there were descendants of specific person named Anak.  This description, where a Nephilim is referred to as “[name] who was born of the giant..”  shows that the Nephilim hybrids after the flood were the offspring of other giants and not angels (this will be explained in greater detail in Part 2).  And in Numbers 13, the giants the spies saw were the sons of the Nephilim giant Anak.

And they were so large that the Israelites spies were like insects to them. Additionally, these giants had special agricultural knowledge that they knew how to grow grapes so large that it took two Israelite men using poles to carry a cluster! So how did the giants return and how was it that they knew to be in the exact place that God was going to send His chosen people to, namely the land of Canaan? The answer starts with the lineage after the flood.

The Bloodlines of the Nephilim

The Bible provides a specific geneology and bloodline of the Nephilim giants after the flood that can be traced back to Noah’s own sons. What seems to be consistent with the presence of the Nephilim gene was an affinity for evil, due to their fallen angelic parentage. And among Noah’s sons, Ham was by far the most wicked.

Ham

HAM (Heb. hām, perhaps hot) ”…NOT the Blacks/ Negroes”

Zondervan Bible Dictionary:

Ham: 1.The youngest son of Noah born probably about 96 years before the Flood; and one of eight persons to live through the Flood. He became the progenitor of the dark races; not the Negroes, but the Egyptians, Ethiopians, Libyans and Canaanites.

Noticed the phrase,”not the Negroes”. From biblicaltraining.org it says:

The youngest son of Noah, born probably about ninety-six years before the Flood, and one of the eight persons to live through the Flood. He became the progenitor of the dark races—not the Blacks/ Negroes, but the Egyptians, Ethiopians, Libyans, and Canaanites (Gen.10.6-Gen.10.20). His indecency when his father lay drunk brought a curse on Canaan (Gen.9.20-Gen.9.27).The descendants of Ham (Ps.78.51;Ps.105.23; Ps.106.22). In these passages “Ham” is used as another name for Egypt as representing Ham’s principal descendants.A city of the Zuzites, east of the Jordan (Gen.14.5).

“And the sons of Noah, that went forth of the ark, were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth: and Ham is the father of Canaan.” – Genesis 9:18.

From the first time Ham is introduced, he is described as “the father of Canaan.” Notice none of his brothers get any similar distinction. Whenever special descriptions are included in a genealogy in Scripture it is the Bible’s way of saying something significant happened with this particular event. And the student of the Bible should search the Scriptures to find out what that event could be. In this case, it is clear that Canaan carried the Nephilim gene. This could only happen through his mother, Ham’s wife, having the Nephilim gene herself, since we know Noah in all his generations was 100% human. If Ham were wicked and not a follower of God, the odds of him taking a wife who was a part of the Nephilim hybrid pagan culture was much higher (B&E: also note that throughout Scripture, men who fell into sin often ended up marrying wives who worshiped false gods; for example, Solomon or King Ahab). And from what the Bible details, Ham was no follower of God. In fact, he was involved in an inappropriate incident with Noah that led to a curse:

And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard: And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent. And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without. And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father’s nakedness. And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him. And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren. And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant. — Genesis 9:20-26.

The details of this incident are somewhat vague but going by Scripture alone, it can be concluded that Ham, out of evil intent, looked at his father’s nakedness and then made it public. The Hebrew term for “without”, chwuts, means “outside, in the street.” But the evil of this sexually immoral act is again repeated by the Lord as a general principle for all to follow:

Woe unto him that giveth his neighbour drink, that puttest thy bottle to him, and makest him drunken also, that thou mayest look on their nakedness!  Thou art filled with shame for glory: drink thou also, and let thy foreskin be uncovered: the cup of the LORD’s right hand shall be turned unto thee, and shameful spewing shall be on thy glory. –Habukkuk 2:15-16.

Shem and Japeth, righteous children of Noah, show a contrast as they seek to respect their father’s dignity by not looking upon, him and carefully covering him. Ham’s sin was so severe that it resulted in his youngest son Canaan becoming the second person in the Bible record to be cursed (the first being Cain, the wicked son of Adam and Eve).

That Ham was wicked (there is no record of him ever repenting for this sin) would make it more likely that he would marry a woman from a pagan family who would be carrying the Nephilim gene.

Nephilim DNA Through the Flood

(B&E: Special thanks to reader Rick for raising this question). If it were not already clear, the reason why God permitted the Nephilim gene to make it on to the ark is because of human sin. We can never forget the role we play in human affairs. If humans sin, they will be judged. If they do not follow God’s ways, they invite sin and its inevitable destructive force.  Ham was not a follower of God and he was judged for his sinful rebellion via his wife.  As will be seen in Part 2, the Nephilim nations after the flood are at various times used by God as judgment against the Israelites for their disobedience. We are all responsible before God.

Part 2 will also review Noah and the world he was living in. There were giants walking around the Earth warring with nations, angels openly being revealed and being worshiped as gods and all sorts of supernatural activity taking place.  The pre-flood world was a very unique place. Noah’s family was well aware of this and that it’s root was satanic, hence Noah being a “preacher of righteousness.” Ham rejected God’s righteousness and God’s ways to forge his own. This was solely Ham’s fault. James chapter 1 outlines the process of sin in one’s heart:

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. – James 1:12-15.

Ham was drawn by his own lusts to the pagan, sinful world. He knew the right way to live because the Bible states that  Noah was a “preacher of righteousness.”  Noah and his family were completely aware of the Nephilim hybridization taking place and Noah clearly made efforts to live separate from this.  Despite having the most Holy man on the planet (literally) as is his father, Ham had no faith in God.   This always brings in sin to a person’s life. We can never forget that when looking at any Biblical account. God could have certainly killed Ham’s wife or told Ham “she’s corrupted” but it is this author’s thinking that Ham did not care about what God had to say because Ham was not a follower of God. Ham had a choice. And he chose to reject God.

There are  many examples of this in scripture. Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt and right up to the Promised Land but could not enter. Why not? Because of his sin. King David brought the ark to Jerusalem where it was supposed to be all along but could not build the temple for it. Why not? Sin. King Solomon had the most prosperous reign in all of Israel and yet led to the nation dividing and ultimately being conquered. Why? Sin. Sin provides the backdoor for Satan to enter and execute his next move in the chess match between he and God. Let this be a lesson to the reader: Satan is relentless in his quest to corrupt and destroy you. And if he cannot get to you, he will happily enter your life through a child or family member.   Ephesians 4 states:

“That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness…Neither give place to the devil.” – Ephesians 4:22-27.

We are renewed in the spirit when we have salvation in Jesus Christ. And we are not to leave any space in our lives for Satan to enter.  Satan entered the space of the ark because Ham invited him.

The Curse of Canaan

What is interesting is that Cannan of Ham’s three sons, was the one cursed. Why? Why is Ham distinguished as “the father of Canaan”? Is it possible that Canaan was already showing the appearance of being part Nephilim? This is not stated in scripture, but we will see a similar distinction made for another infamous hybrid being below. What we can know with certainty that it is from the line of Ham that we find the resurgence of the Nephilim giants.

By comparing Scripture with Scripture, the lineage of the post-flood giants can be traced specifically to three of Ham’s sons, Cush, Mizraim and Canaan. The Bible is full of lineages and the Bible student should take note that they hold significance in bettering our understanding of Scripture. The first grandson of Ham who receives special designation in Genesis 10 is King Nimrod.

Nimrod led the tower of Babel rebellion.

And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan. And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtechah: and the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan. And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.  He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD. And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.  Out of that land went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah,  And Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city. – Genesis 10:6-12.

Was he a Nephilim giant?

Just as Canaan received a special distinction in his genealogy, Nimrod gets several extra verses! Clearly this is someone of special significance. Nimrod was the first murderer and conqueror in the post-flood world. He was the founder of the city of Babylon which became a center of pagan, satanic idolatry, much of it with various versions of Nimrod himself being worshiped as a god. His name, which means “to rebel” or “let us rebel” indicates his disposition. He was an enemy of God and at the time was Satan’s main servant on Earth. He is credited for leading the effort to build the tower of Babel, a religious temple used to access the angelic realm through pagan ritual. The Tower of Babel was also the first attempt at a global government, led by Nimrod and an attempt for man to reach the spiritual realm and “godhood” without The Lord (to which God swiftly responded by destroying the tower, confusing the languages of all the people of the world and scattering them all over the Earth). Was this grandson of Ham possibly a Nephilim?

It is interesting to note is that the verse 9 states that Nimrod “began to be a mighty one in the earth.” The term for “mighty one”, gibborim, is the same Hebrew phrase used to describe the Nephilim giants in Chapter 6 of Genesis who were “mighty men”. It is also the same term used to describe the giant Goliath in 1 Samuel 17:51. Was Nimrod a Nephilim? In mythology, Nimrod is known by many names, among them Gilgamesh and Osiris, who were worshiped as gods. In Sumerian texts he is described as “2/3 god, 1/3 man.” The Hebrew word for “began” in the verse is chalal, which means, “to profane, desecrate or pollute oneself, begin, ritually or sexually”.

Matthew Henry’s Bible commentary on this passage states:

That which is observable and improvable in these verses is the account here given of Nimrod, v. 8-10. He is here represented as a great man in his day: He began to be a mighty one in the earth, that is, whereas those that went before him were content to stand upon the same level with their neighbours, and though every man bore rule in his own house yet no man pretended any further, Nimrod’s aspiring mind could not rest here; he was resolved to tower above his neighbours, not only to be eminent among them, but to lord it over them. The same spirit that actuated the giants before the flood (who became mighty men, and men of renown, ch. 6:4), now revived in him, so soon was that tremendous judgment which the pride and tyranny of those mighty men brought upon the world forgotten. (source)

The final piece of evidence to consider is that in the Septuagint, the oldest version of the Old Testament, the same verse from Genesis reads:

And [Cush] begot [Nimrod]: he began to be a giant upon the earth. He was a giant hunter before the Lord God; therefore they say, As [Nimrod] the giant hunter before the Lord. – Genesis 10:8,9 (LXX)

So from just the text of scripture it appears that through some form of defilement and/or occult ritual, Nimrod. the grandson of Ham, was transformed into a giant. This would not be the only time a human king was transformed into a different creature. Please note that in Daniel 4, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, was literally transformed into a “beast” and lived as an animal for seven years. And this was at the pronouncement of “watchers” and “holy ones” (the same type of angels that are named as being involved in the Genesis 6 illicit relations in extra-biblical texts like the Book of Enoch). (B&E: There is much more to write on Nimrod and his role in Bible scripture that will be covered in a forthcoming article. In the meantime, we strongly encourage the reader to research and explore this figure).

Casluhim and Capthor

And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,  And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (out of whom came Philistim,) and Caphtorim. – Genesis 10:13-14.

Ham’s son Mizaraim also contributed to the Nephilim lineage. In verse 14 we have the first mention of the Phillistines (whose forefather was Phillistim), the nation of the giant Goliath. Calshuhim was the father of Phillistim and his family later resided in Capthor in the Promised Land. So we see the direct origins of the Philistines, one of the most heated enemies of the Israelites, who also carried the Nephilim gene.

In fact, as will be shown, the Philistine nation was the final “hideout” for the remnant of the Nephilim giants. And they can be traced back to Casluhim, the son of Mizraim and grandson of the evil Ham.

Canaan

The name of Canaan should be the most familiar as it was the land that bore his name that was the Promised Land that The Lord reserved for the Israelites after they escaped out of Egypt thanks to God miracles and the leadership of Moses. The fact that they were in the Promised Land the Israelites were supposed to inhabit was no coincidence! The Philistines were worshipers of demons, fallen angels and Satan. And the Nephilim giants among them were working to attack God’s chosen people. Canaan’s line contains many of the enemies of God:

And Mizraim begat Ludim,  And Canaan begat Sidon his first born, and Heth,  And the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgasite, — Genesis 10:14-16.

The Jebusites, the Amorites and Gegusites, all cousins of Nimrod, are mentioned time and time again with reference to the Israelites capturing the Promised Land. These families were usurpers in the Promised Land and carried lots of the Nephilim gene. This is once again why God had to deal mercilessly with these nations. It cannot be stressed enough that the Nephilim threatened not only the existence of the human race itself but the ability of an all-human Messiah to eventually be born as well. Note God’s instructions to Moses on how to battle against these children of the cursed Canaan:

When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou; And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them:  Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son. — Deuteronomy 7:1-3.

Notice that God describes these nations as “greater and mightier than thou” to the Israelites. The physical and military advantage was clearly on the side of the enemies of God – the nations that were home to the Nephilim giants. But what gave the Israelites the ultimate edge was that The Lord Himself was going to supernaturally intervene early on in the conflict to deliver the enemies of Israel so they could be defeated. This point is not discussed enough: God fought against and defeated the early post-flood Nephilim.  This shows the severity of the matter. The Lord was no longer allowing these superhuman, powerful hybrids to dominate humanity. Thus He not only says to wipe out these nations, but makes a specific point of prohibiting any marriage between them. God was bringing the spread of the Nephilim genes to an end.

Lord willing, at this point it is clear that giants did indeed exist in the Bible and in large number. Satan, who has constantly sought to stop God’s plans and destroy the souls of humanity, used a select group of angels to interbreed with human women and try to corrupt human DNA. By altering humanity from being no longer fully human, Satan could ensure that a pure human Messiah would never be born. To counter Satan’s offensive, God sent the global flood judgment to punish those angels who committed folly, destroy the Nephilim and save the existence of the human race. The flood ensured the Messianic bloodline was preserved so that we could have a chance to go to Heaven. It was as an act of love of mercy on God’s part to save a people that had rejected him to follow Satan’s minions and their God-given powers.

The bloodline of the Nephilim after the flood can be clearly traced to Ham, Noah’s evil son who brought a curse upon his own child, Canaan.  But this is just the beginning. In Part 2, “Nephilim Giants – Enemies of God in the Bible” we will continue to examine the post-flood Nephilim lineage from the perspective of the righteous men of God who fought against them throughout the Old Testament in the continuing chess match between God and Satan and the Sons of God against the seed of the Serpent. The article will also look that as the number of Nephilim giants on the Earth decreased, they soon became smaller in size. And we will reveal a modern occult mystery so secret even Wikipedia states it do not have the answer for it! These and other revelations will be detailed, all of this from the pages of Holy Scripture…Visit beginningandend bible study

Races of the The Fallen Angels

The Books of Enoch: The Angels, the Watchers and the Nephilim (with Extensive Commentary on the Three Books of Enoch, the Fallen Angels, T

GIANTS!

God told the Israelites, that when you come into the land to destroy all these races of GIANT people.

They were seeds of entities other than humans entirely, and they would eventually wipe out all of the human race if they were not destroyed and drastic measures had to be taken.

These an entire races of giants/Aliens mentioned in the Bible.

HORITES

• Were Rephaites (Gen 14:5-6) meaning they were giants descended from Rapha, a subgroup descended from the Nephilim

• Lived in the “hill country of Seir” (Gen 14:6; Deut 2:12) a region of Edom

• Were defeated in Abraham’s day by King Chedorlaomer (Gen 14:5-6)

• Were later destroyed by “the descendants of Esau,” the Edomites (Deut 2:12,22)

AVVITES

• Mentioned only once at the end of a list of Rephaites (Deut 2:23)

• Lived in the coast land of southern Canaan in villages near Gaza (Deut 2:23)

• Were destroyed and replaced by the Caphtorites (ancestors of the Philistines who arrived from the island of Cypress/Caphtor)

NEPHILIM

• Race of “renown heros” resulting from the sexual mixing of angels (sons of God) with human women (Gen 6:2)

• “Heros” in Gen 6:2 were not necessarily good people

• Nephilim were “heros” in the same sense that Goliath was called a “hero” of the Philistines (1 Sam 17:51)

• This resulted in offspring of exceptional size and strength (Num 13:33)

• This giant race aggravated the exceptional wickedness of men living before the flood and was a factor in God’s decision to “wipe mankind from the face of the earth” by a flood (Gen 6:5-7)

• Angels continued siring Nephilim with human women even after the flood (Gen 6:4) which explains why descendants of the Nephilim resided in Canaan

• According to Jude, Enoch son of Jared, before the flood, in the 7th generation following Adam, stood firm against an explosion of wickedness among men that led to angelic intervention (Jude 14-15)

• Since the sort of wickedness to which Jude refers required angelic intervention, it may well have concerned the Nephilim

REPHAITES or REPHAIM or DESCENDANTS OF RAPHA

• Initially referred to descendants of an individual giant named Rapha, and then became general term for several giant clans living in the region of Canaan

• Rephaites were Nephilim because the Anakites (a clan of Rephaites) are identified as Nephilim (Num 13:33)

• Rephaite clans included the Anakim, the Emim, the Zamzummim, the Horites, and the Avvites

• Were in the region of Canaan during Abraham’s day (Gen 15:20)

• Several Rephaite clans were defeated by King Chedorlaomer in Abraham’s day (Gen 14:5-6)

• Og, King of Bashan, is identified as the last individual “remnant of the Rephaites” (Deut 3:11). But since other giants after Og are also referred to as Rephaites, this reference most likely means that Og was the last

Numbers 13:33:

“There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.”

So, who were these GIANTS, these REPTILIANS descendants of Anak?

ANAKITES or ANAKIM or SONS OF ANAK

• Were Rephaites (Deut 2:11) meaning they were giants descended from Rapha, a subgroup descended from the Nephilim

• Were giants descended from the Nephlim (Num 13:33)

• Were “people of great size” (Num 13:32)

• Were “stronger and taller” than regular people (Deut 1:28; 9:2)

• Were all descendants of a giant named Arba (Josh 15:13; 21:11)

• Were descendants of a giant named Anak who lived in southern Canaan (Num 13:22,28)

How many GIANTS were there? THOUSANDS! Probably millions

12 individual named giants mentioned in the Bible

RAPHA

• Early ancestor of all the giant clans in what became the region of Palestine, which included the Anakites, Emites, and Horites (Deut 2:10-12; 2 Sam 21:16,18,20,22; 1 Chron 20:4,6,8)

ANAK

• Father of a clan of giants living southern Cannaan (Num 13:28)

ARBA
• Forefather of Anak and the Anakim (Josh 15:13; 21:11)

• Honored as “the greatest man among the Anakites” (Josh 14:15)

• The Anakite name for Hebron was Kiriath-Arba meaning “City of Arba” (Josh 15:13)

SEPHER

• Because Debir was an Anakite city like Hebron (Josh 11:21), and because the former Anakite name for Debir was Kiriath-Sepher meaning “City of Sepher,” it must be that Sepher was the name of another Anakite patriarch like Arba (Josh 15:15)

OG

•The king of Bashan identified as the last of “the Rephaites” (Deut 3:11)• Since other giants after Og are also Rephaites, the reference most likely means

that Og was the last pure blooded (100%) giant sired by an angel mixing with a human woman (see explanation of the Nephilim)

• Bashan where Og ruled is in the region of Mount Hermon, and that according to the book of Enoch is where angels sired the Nephilim

• Og is the largest giant mentioned in the Bible—his bed was 13.5 feet long meaning Og was himself about 13 feet tall (Deut 3:11)

• Og with his army attacked the Israelites east of the Jordan in a battle at Edrei while they were still commanded by Moses (Deut 3:1-11)

• Og was defeated and killed and his territory was assigned to the half-tribe of Manasseh

AHIMAN

• A descendant of Arba and Anak who lived in Kiriath-Arba (later named Hebron) when Israel invaded Canaan (Num 13:22)

• One of 3 giants driven out of Hebron by Caleb (Josh 15:14; Jdg 1:10,20)

SHESHAI

• A descendant of Arba and Anak who lived in Kiriath-Arba (later named Hebron) when Israel invaded Canaan (Num 13:22)

• One of 3 giants driven out of Hebron by Caleb (Josh 15:14; Jdg 1:10,20)

TALMAI

• A descendant of Arba and Anak who lived in Kiriath-Arba (later named Hebron) when Israel invaded Canaan (Num 13:22)

• One of 3 giants driven out of Hebron by Caleb (Josh 15:14; Jdg 1:10,20)

GOLIATH

• The “champion” of the Philistine army opposing the Israelites under Saul (1 Sam 17:4)

• Was 9 feet tall, wore armor weighing 125 pounds, and spearhead weighed 15 pounds (1 Sam 17:4-7)

• Was descended from the Anakim giants whom Joshua allowed to survive in Gaza, Gath, and Ashdod (Josh 11:22)

LAHMI

• One of the giants living in Gath

• The brother of Goliath

• Was killed by one of David’s men named Elhanan son of Jair

• Used a spear of similar size to one used by Goliath (1 Chron 20:5; 2 Sam 21:19)

ISHBI-BENOB

• One of the giants living in Gath with the Philistines in southern Canaan

• Was killed by David’s nephew Abishai, son of David’s sister Zeruiah, who rescued David when this giant went after David during a battle between the Philistines and Israelites (2 Sam 21:15-17,22)

• Used a spearhead weighing 7.5 pounds (2 Sam 21:16) which was merely half the size of Goliath’s spearhead

SAPH also called SIPPAI

• One of the giants subjugated by the Philistines in southern Canaan

• Another giant who lived with the Philistines in Gath

• Was killed by one of David’s men named Sibbachai the Hushathite (1 Chron 20:4,8; 2 Sam 21:18,22)

One GIANT mentioned in scripture had 6 fingers on each hand and 6 toes on each foot (2 Sam 21:20-22; 1 Chron 20:6-8)

Regions where giants lived:

The “region of Argob” in Bashan ruled by Og the giant king (Deut 3:4)

Anakites were scattered throughout the “hill country of Judah and Israel” (Josh 11:21)

The main Anakite centers were the cities of Hebron (formerly Kiriath-Arba), Debir

(formerly Kiriath-Sepher), and Anab in the hill country of Judah (Josh 11:21)

Some Anakites also lived in the coastal plain region with the Philistines in the cities of

Gaza, Gath and Ashdod (Josh 11:22)

Emim lived east of the Jordan river in a region of Moab (Gen 14:5; Deut 2:11)

Zamzummim lived east of the Jordan river in the region of the Ammonites (Deut 2:20)

Horites lived below the Dead Sea in the “hill country of Seir” (Gen 14:6; Deut 2:12) a region of Edom

Avvites lived in the coast land of southern Canaan in villages near Gaza (Deut 2:23)

The place where a coalition of eastern kings led by Chedorloamer, king of Elam (in the

region of Persia) defeated the combined armies of several giant clans was named Shaveh-

Kiriathaim (Wasteland of Kiriathaim). This place is a valley located in the high plain

above the Arnon River east of the Dead Sea in the region of Moab (Gen 14:5)

PIMP Goes to HELL – Heaven and Hell is Real

Updated Version: Tyrone went to Hell

True Life after Death Story of former PIMP ( Tyrone  Williams ) who lost his right arm in a car accident then flat-lined. He came back to tell about his experience in hell. But the grace of God, he was given a second chance. This is his story.

A Powerful Death Experience of a former Pimp

Part 1

Part 2

A Powerful Near Death Experience of a former PIMP

Tyrone died and went to hell

Tyrone mentions the narrow path which we find mentioned in Esdras…see below

2 Esdras 7:7

The entrance thereof is narrow, and is set in a dangerous place to fall, like as if there were a fire on the right hand, and on the left a deep water:

2 Esdras 7:8

And one only path between them both, even between the fire and the water, so small that there could but one man go there at once.

Brain washing the public in order to control them for a New World Order

Luke 13:3

”……..except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish”

Philippians 3:18-19

King James Version (KJV)

18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:

19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

America Has Failed to Big Pimp

In case you hadn’t noticed, hip-hop, the degenerate pop music genre known for hit songs like Jay-Z’s “Big Pimpin”, has failed America — but so too has the nation failed hip-hop.So says a person named Toure’, to whom the Washington Post gave actual column space to write wisdom such as:

Hip-hop is the product of a generation in which many black men did not know their fathers. How did these fatherless MCs construct their masculinity? For some, it was by watching and idolizing drug dealers. Many would make it as rappers by packaging themselves as former dealers — either because that is what they were or because that’s who they revered. I’m talking about the Notorious B.I.G., Nas, the Wu-Tang Clan, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, the Clipse, Rick Ross and others. By then, it seemed as though an MC needed to claim drug-trade stripes to earn acceptance among hip-hop’s elite.

In her 1999 book “The Color of Crime,” legal scholar Katheryn Russell-Brown speaks of the myth of the “criminalblackman,” coining a new word that smashes together two concepts already linked — incorrectly — in the American consciousness. The criminalblackman is supposedly the source of all crime, proof of the natural connection between race and criminality. She pointed out that, in the 1990s, whites comprised 70 percent of those arrested and 40 percent of the incarcerated, but that white crime did not reverberate outward to say something about the character of all white people. By contrast, black crime suggests something is wrong with the entire race.

Bizarrely, hip-hop embraced this notion. Why?

First: Did America make those black men abandon their children?

Second: It’s cruel and absurd to suggest that there is anything about a person’s race that makes them more or less susceptible to criminal behavior. It’s about culture. In the US at this time in our history, a greatly disproportionate number of violent criminals are black (as are their victims). Toure’ concedes that black culture — hip-hop culture, at least — came to embrace criminality. Whose fault is that? Why, America’s, of course:

”A nation that assumed they were criminals”

It’s a classic psychological strategy. As Michelle Alexander writes in her recent book, “The New Jim Crow,” embracing your own stigma is a political act, “an act of resistance and defiance in a society that seeks to demean a group based on an inalterable trait.” These men saw themselves in a nation that assumed they were criminals — so they went with it.

… The nation surely failed its black male citizens by targeting and imprisoning them when joblessness and the crack epidemic left them with few real options. They were conveniently villainized, arrested and warehoused to help politicians, judges, prosecutors and police win the public trust.

So, let me get this straight: America, in its iniquity, failed to prevent black men from making babies, especially male babies, that they abandoned, then failed to compel those children to become employable, then forced them to become dope dealers and thugs, then committed the unforgivable sin of actually putting drug dealers and thugs behind bars.

Got it. America is surely the evillest country on the face of the Earth! Must make a note to emigrate to a place where people can make babies and abandon them without facing social sanction, do drugs and sell drugs and engage in violence related to the drug trade, and not be held to account by the state for their behavior because to do so is an act of racial aggression. Sounds like paradise to me. Can you subscribe to The Washington Postthere?…By Rod Dreher

For the love of money is the root of all evil

1 Timothy 6:10

King James Version (KJV)

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

To find a DEMON- Follow the Money!

Demons: Distributors of fortune

While much of what is called Christianity believes in an evil spirit world containing some conglomeration of “fallen angels” that are typically believed to also be “demons” we need to ask the question- Why do we believe this? Is there a genuine biblical basis that factually supports such a belief? As you read this very sentence- if you believe in demons, your mind is already thinking of those “obvious” verses that “prove” that there are “fallen angels” or “demons” who are out to get you. You are also about to dismiss what you are reading as just some crackpot writing about something he has utterly no idea about.

You know there are demons- why you may have even seen them “cast out” with your very own eyes, or better yet, you may feel you were led of the spirit to “know” thatxx c there is an evil spirit world full of rebellious fallen angels who attempt to thwart God at every opportunity.

For clarity sake, and to forge a direct challenge to any thinking person in an attempt to have them try to “prove” me wrong, let me state categorically that there is no such thing as a “fallen angel” the way most people think. There was never a “war” in heaven led by something thought to be named “Lucifer” (when he was supposedly a “good” guy), and this Lucifer/Satan never took a third of all of God’s angels with him. There is no supernatural evil spirit domain that is an antagonist to the Almighty God!

When someone in the Arab world calls the United States “The Great Satan” few Americans realize that the Arabs are using the word “satan” precisely as it is intended and in total accordance with the meaning of that word. Satan simply means “adversary”. The United States is the greatest adversary imaginable to the intent of Islamo-fascism. This, however, in no way makes America an evil spirit being- just an enemy. Furthermore, the typical Jew also knows exactly what the Arab means. Yet, the typical American perceives the word to mean that they are calling us (figuratively?) an evil spirit being who lives in constant opposition to the God of Abraham, etc.

How did we get to the point where nearly everyone else knows what “satan” is and means biblically, except for most of those who call themselves Christian? Then, the follow-up question of the hour becomes, almost a ditto, except for substituting “demon” for satan. Why is the belief in evil spirit beings called demons such an integral part of the teaching of most churches, when it can be readily shown from history that there were no such things in ancient Israel , or even in the New Testament (Messianic writings)?

Daemon is the Greek word for Demon and it means to distribute. In the ancient world Daemon were departed ancestors who either distributed fortunes or brought evil. Daemons were associated with tree worship, Venus, Asteroth, Easter, Ishtar, Semiramis, Baal, Tammuz. Tree worship extends all the way back to the Garden and the goddess of fertility or queen of heaven is a perversion of Eve.

Start at the beginning-

We must go way back in history and examine something that is mostly misunderstood by virtually all of those professing themselves to be christians today. The result is then misused to form the very basis of the distorted viewpoint and belief- spirit beings called demons.

We begin with the use of the word “elohim”, which in the Hebrew writings is often translated “god” “God” “judge” and so-forth.

The very first thing we need to realize is that the word “god” (or God) is NOT a translation of the word elohim. Elohim means- mighty one (plural intensive- singular meaning) or mighty ones, and as a result is used as a term describing- rulers, judges, princes, god or gods, godlike, etc. Thus, the word “elohim” is not a, or the, proper name of an entity, it is just a noun. The word dog is not the name of a dog, it is simply the term we use to identify a four-legged animal of the genus canine. Fido is a name of a dog, so if someone said that Fido is his dog, we would immediately realize that “dog” is not a last name of Fido, but simply that Fido is a canine. In English, we have come to use the word “god” as a replacement for the Hebrew word elohim. Furthermore, we have capitalized “G”od and not capitalized god- depending upon what we think we are referring to. The Hebrew makes no such distinction- a point we dare not overlook or fail to consider. Much confusion and errant doctrine would be avoided were we to simply insert “might one(s)” for elohim when translating to English from Hebrew- regardless of who or what it applied to!

Abraham was an elohim (god) in the Old Testament.

Ge 23:6  Hear us, my lord: thou art a mighty <0430> prince among us: in the choice of our sepulchres bury thy dead; none of us shall withhold from thee his sepulchre, but that thou mayest bury thy dead. (AV)

Moses was an elohim (god) to Aaron.

Ex 4:16  He shall speak for you to the people; and he shall be a mouth for you, and you shall be to him as God. (RSV)

Moses was a god to Pharaoh.

Ex 7:1  And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god <0430> to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet. (AV)

A Plague was an elohim.

Ex 9:28  Intreat the LORD (for it is enough) that there be no more mighty <0430> thunderings and hail; and I will let you go, and ye shall stay no longer.

Human leaders were elohim.

Ex 22:9  For all manner of trespass, whether it be for ox, for ass, for sheep, for raiment, or for any manner of lost thing, which another challengeth to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the judges <0430>; and whom the judges <0430> shall condemn, he shall pay double unto his neighbour.

Are we starting to get the picture? Anciently, anyone of notoriety, nobility, elevated rank or position could be an elohim (god) – no one thought these gods were supernatural spirit beings.

Were the pagan “gods” imaginary beings? No! The “gods” of the other nations were all based on real things. A god might have been a frog or an insect, or it might have been a deceased human leader- such as Nimrod. Many dead humans were known by names other than the one they had when alive. The following gods were all once humans by another name: Easter (Ishtar), Isis, Ra, Zeus, Merodach, Jupiter, and many others.

A thought for later- Why did worshipers of “false” gods worship their god(s)? What did they hope or expect from a dead ancestor? Think about it for a while.

When we consider that “false” gods were not “made up”, but were once real persons or things, we can begin to understand just what the Creator (god or God in English) meant when we read:

Ex 20:1  And God <0430> spake all these words, saying,

Ex 20:2  I am the LORD thy God <0430>, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt , out of the house of bondage.

Ex 20:3  Thou shalt have no other gods <0430> (mighty ones) before me.

Our Elohim (god) and Creator declared Himself to be the proverbial Top Dog of all dogs.

Today, we use the word “god” much differently than anciently. However, if we fail to understand how the ancients used the word, we will fail to understand the very book we need to understand more than any other. We must understand the meaning and use of the word elohim in the cultural context it appears in- not in our cultural context of the 21st century- or the 17th century.

Here is the typical use of the word elohim- that we think means “god”. The following is translated from ancient Shumarian texts and is excerpted from a paper on elohim by Wayne Atchison. This paper is available by emailing us at info@israelofgod.org.

“…the protecting king of the city, brother of the God Zamama; who firmly founded the farms of Kish …”

“…who rules by law; who gave back to the city of Ashur its protecting God; who let the name of Ishtar of Nineveh remain in E-mish-mish…”

“8. If any one steal cattle or sheep, or an ass, or a pig or a goat, if it belong to a God or to the court…”

“110. If a sister of a God open a tavern…”

“127. If any one point the finger (slander) at a sister of a God or the wife of any one, and can not prove it…”

“…When he reads the record, let him pray with full heart to Marduk (an ancient God), my lord, and Zarpanit, my lady; and then shall the protecting Deitiesand the Gods, who frequent E-Sagil,…”

“…may the great God (by context is Anu), the Father of the Gods, who has ordered my rule, withdraw from him the glory of royalty, break his scepter, curse his destiny…”

The primary point is that in the ancient cultures men were “Gods”.  That is, men were “Elohim(s)”.  The word “God” was a social status given only to the elite class of men.  Being called “a God” did not mean that you were “a spirit being”; everyone knew you were going to die.  Thus, “God” was a title, and it meant that they had “deity-like status” in the community, and received regular offerings from the populace to maintain their wealth and lifestyles.

Consider these known facts about the ancient cultures

1.  Families had “protecting Gods”.  No they were not all dead, usually they were still alive and the family directly relied upon them for protection (soldiers) and good-fortune (aid in emergencies).

2.  Cities had their own “protecting Gods”.  Originally “the Gods” were men who owned the cities.  Originally these men decided who would be the city’s King, Captains, Sheriff, and Priests.  Later their Priests “took over” these duties.  We see this even to this day.  A King, even the Kings of Europe, is always coronated by a Priest.  It is the Priesthood of a God that “okays” the King’s authority.

3.  Armies had their own “protecting Gods”.  The soldiers would march and battle in the name of their “Gods”.  The Roman armies marched in the name of their “Ancestral Gods”.  They purposefully left it vague to embrace soldiers from all foreign lands.

4.  If a city was conquered by another “God”, then its population had to start worshipping “that victorious God”.  That is, they had to start giving offerings to the conquering “God”.  For example during the Crusades and often during the Middle Ages the Catholic Church used this same concept to order armies to conquer villages, and then they would force everyone to be baptized into “The Church”.  Tribute-money is just another form of “making an offering” to the conquering “God”.  Thus, over time, there became almost no distinction between “The Conquering God” and “The Kingdom” doing the conquering.

5.  Not all “Gods” were still alive.  Priests of dead “Gods” still erected temples to the dead men so that they could still receive offerings so that they still had an income.  With the income came power.  For example:  Baal was worshipped by Israel .  Baal was a real person, a real king, a real “God”.  But he was dead. But that did not matter, his Priests still gladly took the people’s offerings anyway.  Offerings to the “Gods” was a big-business enterprise:  erect temples, collect offerings, get rich, and wield political power.

Now, what does all this have to do with Demons? Everything! Remember- Follow the Money!

People looked to their Elohim for fortune, blessing, and favor. When these humans died, people continued to look for their dead elohim to bless them with fortune and so forth. Each culture, people, and nation had their own set of elohim to which they looked for good fortune, destinies, etc. Thus, elohim- as “deities” were thought of as being able “to distribute fortune” to the petitioner.

The Greek word translated to demon is daimon. The Greek word- in the Greek culture- meant: deity, tutelary divinity, genius, and only later “an evil spirit”.

Now you are asking, “What is a tutelary divinity”?

Glad you asked. A tutelary divinity is a guardian or protector of a person, place or thing. We might think of our own cultures use of “God-parent”.

Now you are asking, “What is meant by- genius”?

In the Greek, we form genesis, meaning the origin or source. In Arabic we say, “jinn”, which is also a reference to our ancestral roots of origin. Gen-ius also includes those attendant spirits, tutelary divinities, and of all things- genies. Are you starting to see the picture? Remember- Follow the Money!

Dead ancestors- even with a priesthood encouraging followers to offer money for favor (to the willingly receptive priesthood, of course).

“Jinn”- ditto above.

And what do you do if you find a magic lamp??? Don’t you rub it three times and a “genie” pops out and offers you three wishes? What do you suppose those who find and rub the lamp are likely to wish for?- Fortune, Wealth, Favor, etc.?

At the time of the writing of the New Testament we had a world steeped in superstition- even the Jews in Judea ! This was something that Jesus/Yeshua had to deal with, but the superstition of that day has continued intact to this very day. Thus, we attribute meanings into words and biblical events that just did not exist and were not a part of what was said or meant more than 2,000 years ago.

The root word for the Greek daimon is daio and simply means- to distribute fortune.

People looked to their dead ancestors for favor and hoped that they- from the “great beyond”- would distribute fortune to their descendants.

What is a totem pole? What is a “grove” in ancient Israel ?  Same thing, a stick in the ground that represents their dead ancestors- that is then worshiped in the hope of the distribution of fortune…to the petitioner!

Demons are deities, which are just dead ancestors, but how does all this fit into the New Testament and how do we explain those “obvious” verses?

First, we need to complete the look into the use of the word daimon in the time of Jesus/Yeshua. In this paper we have discussed the Hebrew word “elohim” and the Greek word daimon. It should now be noted that the Greek word “theos” is used to translate the Hebrew word “elohim” when used or quoted in the New Testament from the Old Testament (TANAK). Why use theos and not daimon if a daimon is an elohim? Daimon, or demons, are deities and elohim, but in particular daimon is used to refer to deities who are ancestors, and thus human, although typically dead and buried, so to speak. Quite literally, by definition, these daimon, or daimonion, are a lower class God, an inferior deity. They are not on the level of the Supreme God, or other high ranking gods of a particular society. These daimonion (demons) are ministers, messengers, attendants, etc., of bigger and stronger gods, which in Greek are called “theos”. Even the errant understanding that demons are evil spirit beings (fallen angels) places them in subjection to the “big” cheese supposedly over them- “Satan”.

We may further note- concerning the understanding of daimon in the cultural Greek of the New Testament era- from John Epps book, The Devil Exposed ( Ch. 5, Pg. 2) (ed. note- bold type is IoG):

In what sense, then, was the word daimon used by the Greek writers? A most extended inquiry by Mr. Farmer has established that the Greek writers used this word to express human “spirits” of departed people. Many such “spirits” of departed human beings the ancients deified and worshipped: and hence the word daimon meant to the Greeks, and those who used their language, human departed “spirits” raised to the rank of gods and deities. “Homer calleth all his gods, daimones, and Hesoid the worthies of the golden age.” Leigh’s Critica Sacra, article Daimon. Hesoid maintains, indeed, that whenever a good man dies he becomes a demon: and Plato praises him for the sentiment.

We need to recognize two things. First, where do most Christians think you go when you die? Heaven, right?  While many of you realize that nowhere does the bible make such a promise, it is nevertheless the predominant viewpoint of those professing to be a Christian. It is interesting to note that there is little to no difference conceptually with those who look to their demons (daimon) for favor and those who believe their dead (the good one’s anyway) ancestors are still living, but in heaven- which is where they also look for favor from their God- who just happens to be “over” these ancestors. This is more than co-incidental. We need not spend the time to “connect the dots” here, you may continue your examination and research on this yourself. Be assured, though, the dots do connect and the bible teaches something entirely different than what the typical Christian is taught to believe.

Secondly, the above belief- that when you die you go to heaven- comes right out of the same paganistic belief system that has dead ancestors going to the next life and possessing the ability to influence the distribution of fortune and the bestowing of favors on their favored descendants- if they (the living petitioners) are good, or ask just right, or do what their minister tells them, or pays money to the church (especially on the dead one’s behalf), or…. Say, you don’t suppose Mary or some “Saint” (did I say daimon/demon?) could help me out here, do you? I don’t want to sound ungrateful, but my car has over 100,000 miles on it. I won’t cry, or pout, or be naughty this year. But wait, it just occurred to me, with energy prices being what they are- maybe some coal in the stocking isn’t so bad- and I have just the stocking.

Now, let’s have some fun! More “dots” that connect? Continue…

Follow the Money

Who is one of the best-known demons in the world to this day? This globally recognized demon is known for his distribution of fortune. Little children around the world are taught that he will distribute fortune to them if they are good. Ask almost any little child where this demon lives and they will tell you. Many children are even encouraged to write this demon and make a list of the things they want to receive from this demon. This demon has existed for at least a few thousand years. We note that just before Israel crossed the Red Sea , they passed by a city dedicated to this demon- a point or irony, perhaps. Surely you have guessed who this is by now?

Ex 14:9  But the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.

Baalzephon was the name of this city and the name means- Lord of the north.

Who “lives” at the North Pole? Who distributes fortune to petitioners every December 25th? Who is perhaps the best-known demon in the world today? Santa Claus! Of course, we all know that this demon was once a real person by the name of Nimrod, but his followers have continued to worship him and his legend eventually became mythology, yet, don’t we all know the little red fat man? Don’t we see his presence in stores every year? And- why- Follow the Money!

OK, but how did Nimrod come to have such a broad acceptance?

Remember that earlier in this paper we showed that historically families, cities, and even armies all had “protecting” gods. While others may have tried this previously, Rome became quite good at it- when they would conquer someone, they would expand Rome ’s “gods” (dead ancestors of Romans) to include the newly conquered people, too. Thus, those defeated could in effect retain their old religion and gods (and demons) and also have a common interest with their captors- Rome . This enabled Rome to possess better control over the local population, since they were now all on the same page religiously. Then, as the occupied was incorporated into the army, they would have no significant religious differences from other conquered peoples they would fight alone side of, in fact, they would now share the same gods. This was a great unifying move by Rome and allowed them tremendous flexibility strategically. The development of these “generic” gods and demons (lower gods) was a brilliant stoke of genius.

In Nimrod’s case, there were others in positions of power who were more than willing to propagate the continuance of Nimrod’s influence after his death- since it meant Money and Power for them. From there the established acceptance has continued to this very day.

Later we will address the various “scriptures” that are commonly used to prove there are evil spirit beings called demons. But this concludes the foundational aspect of this paper. Any thoughts, comments, or questions are welcomed and you may email me at info@israelofgod.org

If there is anything you feel should be added to this, or other portions of the overall paper, please notify me at the above email, as well.

It is my desire that we may all shed superstitious beliefs and uncover the authentic mighty one of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob- the mighty one of Israel , the one true mighty one…Richard Fix

Mark of the beast – The tree in the Garden – 3 Wishes

Jeremiah 10

King James Version (KJV)

10 Hear ye the word which the Lord speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:

Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.

For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.

They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.

MARK OF THE BEAST – THE TREE IN THE GARDEN – 3 WISHES

Daemon is the Greek word for Demon and it means to distribute. In the ancient world Daemon were departed ancestors who either distributed fortunes or brought evil. Daemons were associated with tree worship, Venus, Asteroth, Easter, Ishtar, Semiramis, Baal, Tammuz. Tree worship extends all the way back to the Garden and the goddess of fertility or queen of heaven is a perversion of Eve.

1. Early Christians had a soft spot for pagans

It’s a mistake to say that our modern Christmas traditions come directly from pre-Christian paganism, said Ronald Hutton, a historian at Bristol University in the United Kingdom. However, he said, you’d be equally wrong to believe that Christmas is a modern phenomenon. As Christians spread their religion into Europe in the first centuries A.D., they ran into people living by a variety of local and regional religious creeds.

Christian missionaries lumped all of these people together under the umbrella term “pagan,” said Philip Shaw, who researches early Germanic languages and Old English at Leicester University in the U.K. The term is related to the Latin word meaning “field,” Shaw told LiveScience. The lingual link makes sense, he said, because early European Christianity was an urban phenomenon, while paganism persisted longer in rustic areas.

Early Christians wanted to convert pagans, Shaw said, but they were also fascinated by their traditions.

“Christians of that period are quite interested in paganism,” he said. “It’s obviously something they think is a bad thing, but it’s also something they think is worth remembering. It’s what their ancestors did.”

Perhaps that’s why pagan traditions remained even as Christianity took hold. The Christmas tree is a 17th-century German invention, University of Bristol’s Hutton told LiveScience, but it clearly derives from the pagan practice of bringing greenery indoors to decorate in midwinter. The modern Santa Claus is a direct descendent of England’s Father Christmas, who was not originally a gift-giver. However, Father Christmas and his other European variations are modern incarnations of old pagan ideas about spirits who traveled the sky in midwinter, Hutton said.

2. We all want that warm Christmas glow

But why this fixation on partying in midwinter, anyway? According to historians, it’s a natural time for a feast. In an agricultural society, the harvest work is done for the year, and there’s nothing left to be done in the fields.

“It’s a time when you have some time to devote to your religious life,” said Shaw. “But also it’s a period when, frankly, everyone needs cheering up.”

The dark days that culminate with the shortest day of the year — the winter solstice — could be lightened with feasts and decorations, Hutton said.

“If you happen to live in a region in which midwinter brings striking darkness and cold and hunger, then the urge to have a celebration at the very heart of it to avoid going mad or falling into deep depression is very, very strong,” he said.

Stephen Nissenbaum, author of the Pulitzer Prize finalist “The Battle for Christmas” (Vintage, 1997), agreed.

“Even now when solstice means not all that much because you can get rid of the darkness with the flick of an electric light switch, even now, it’s a very powerful season,” he told LIveScience.

3. The Church was slow to embrace Christmas

Despite the spread of Christianity, midwinter festivals did not become Christmas for hundreds of years. The Bible gives no reference to when Jesus was born, which wasn’t a problem for early Christians, Nissenbaum said.

“It never occurred to them that they needed to celebrate his birthday,” he said.

With no Biblical directive to do so and no mention in the Gospels of the correct date, it wasn’t until the fourth century that church leaders in Rome embraced the holiday. At this time, Nissenbaum said, many people had turned to a belief the Church found heretical: That Jesus had never existed as a man, but as a sort of spiritual entity.

“If you want to show that Jesus was a real human being just like every other human being, not just somebody who appeared like a hologram, then what better way to think of him being born in a normal, humble human way than to celebrate his birth?” Nissenbaum said.

Midwinter festivals, with their pagan roots, were already widely celebrated, Nissenbaum said. And the date had a pleasing philosophical fit with festivals celebrating the lengthening days after the winter solstice (which fell on Dec. 21 this year). “O, how wonderfully acted Providence that on that day on which that Sun was born … Christ should be born,” one Cyprian text read.

4. The Puritans hated the holiday

But if the Catholic Church gradually came to embrace Christmas, the Protestant Reformation gave the holiday a good knock on the chin. In the 16th century, Christmas became a casualty of this church schism, with reformist-minded Protestants considering it little better than paganism, Nissenbaum said. This likely had something to do with the “raucous, rowdy and sometimes bawdy fashion” in which Christmas was celebrated, he added.

In England under Oliver Cromwell, Christmas and other saints’ days were banned, and in New England it was illegal to celebrate Christmas for about 25 years in the 1600s, Nissenbaum said. Forget people saying, “Happy holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas,” he said.

“If you want to look at a real ‘War on Christmas,’ you’ve got to look at the Puritans,” he said. “They banned it!” Stephanie Pappas

Before Genesis: Lucifer- Satan’s Fall -Is this Atlantis?

This teaching uses the Bible the explain what happend before Genesis took place. It deals with angels, what they are, Lucifer and his fall, how he works, and different occurances of Satan in the Bible.

I will climb to the highest heavens and be like the Most High.Helel, Ben-ShacharIsaiah 14:14Lucifer in the Bible – Helel Ben Shachar

In the Bible, the Hebraic text in Isaiah 14:2 refers to Helel Ben Shachar or Heylel Ben-Shachar (הילל בן שחר). Helel Ben-Schachar is translated into English as “O shining star, son of the dawn!” The name Lucifer is a translation of Helel Ben-Shachar into Latin by St. Jerome in the fourth century. Lucifer derives from two Latin words, lux (light) and fero (to bear–to bring), meaning light-bearer, light-bringer. The Bible identifies Lucifer as Devil,Satan, serpent, dragon, dweller of hell and other names.

Lucifer is the Latin translation of the Hebrew name Helel Ben-Shachar

The name Satan

Satan is a Hebrew word meaning “adversary,” as “one to lie in wait”; hence, “the snares of the devil.” In the New Testament, Satan is referred to under the name “Devil” (Greek: diabolos), meaning “accuser, slanderer.” In Hebrew שׂטן satan or śāṭān, or Aramaic שׂטנא satana means “accuser, adversary.”). Satan plays various roles in the Hebrew Bible, the Apocrypha and the New Testament. In the Hebrew Bible Satan is presented as an angel (messenger) sent by God to test mankind; in the Apocrypha and New Testament Satan is portrayed as an evil rebellious demon who is the enemy of God and mankind.

Satan is the central embodiment of evil. Satan is also commonly known as the Devil, the “Prince of Darkness”, Beelzebub, Mephistopheles, Lucifer, and Rachelle. In the Talmud and some works of Kabbalah Satan is sometimes called Samael ; however most Jewish literature is of the opinion that Samael is a separate angel. In the fields of angelology and demonology these different names sometimes refer to a number of different angels and demons. In Islam, Satan is known as Iblis, who was the chief of the angels until he disobeyed Allah by refusing to prostrate himself before Adam.

The name Devil

The word “Devil” is not used in the Old Testament. It is Abaddon in Hebrew, Apollyon in Greek, meaning “destroyer.” The Devil is the name given to a supernatural entity who, in most Western religions, is the central embodiment of evil. This entity is also commonly referred to by a variety of names, including Satan, Lucifer, Mephistopheles and Beelzebub. In classic demonology, these alternate names sometime refer to a separate supernatural entities or personalities.

“Satan” and “Devil” are two names used in the Scriptures, but there are a great number of others familiar to all Bible readers, namely: “the accuser of our brethren,” “the evil one,” “deceiver,” “murderer,” “father of lies,” “Beelzebub,” “Belial,” “tempter,” “great dragon,” “serpent,” “prince of demons,” and at least forty such titles are attributed to the fallen angel Lucifer.

The place of Hell

Hell is place defined in the Bible, about the afterlife, and is a place of torment, great weeping and gnashing of teeth. The Judeo-Christian term hell comes from the Hebrew word “Gehinnom”, which technically means landfill, the use of the word “hell” in Bible translation, Collier’s Encyclopedia says: “Gehinnom” in Old Testament times referred simply to the abode of the dead and suggested no moral distinctions, the word ‘hell,’ as understood today, is not a happy translation.” The confusion over what this word actually means stems from the fact that the ancient Hebrews apparently didn’t believe in immortality of the “soul”.

Hebrew landfills were very unsanitary and unpleasant when compared to modern landfills; these places were filled with rotting garbage and the Hebrews would periodically burn them down, however by that point they were generally so large that they would burn for weeks or even months. In other words they were fiery mountains of garbage. In The New Testament the word “Gehenna” refers to one such landfill, the valley of Hinnom.

The Hebrew Sheol was translated in the Septuagint as ‘Hades’, another the name for the underworld. The New Testament uses this word, but it also uses the word ‘Gehenna’, from the valley of Ge-Hinnom, a valley near Jerusalem in which in ancient times garbage was burned. The early Christian teaching was that the damned would be burnt in the valley just as the garbage was. Punishment for the damned and reward for the saved is a central theme of early Christianity.

A word about Latin

Latin was the lanuguage originally spoken in the region around Rome. It gained great importance as the formal language of the Roman Empire. All Romance languages, such as Italian, Spanish and French, descend from a Latin and many words based on Latin are found in other modern languages such as English. In the Western world, Latin was a lingua franca, the learned language for scientific and political affairs, for more than a thousand years, being eventually replaced by French in the 18th century and English in the late 19th. Latin remains the formal language of the Roman Catholic Church to this day, which includes being the official national language of the Vatican. It is also still used, along with Greek, to furnish the names used in the scientific classification of living things.

Intelligence & Beauty

“Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty” Ezekiel 28:12.

Arrogance & Pride

‘Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness” (Ezekiel 28:17).

Misleading the World

Satan deceives the whole world (Rev 12:9), and “The whole world lieth in the evil one” (I John 5:19).

Satan forced from Heaven

“And there was war in heaven. Michael and the angels under his command fought the dragon and his angels. And the dragon lost the battle and was forced out of heaven. ” (Rev 12:7).

Satan deceives and battles

“Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, and shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle” (Rev 20:7,8).

Satan revealed – overthrown by Jesus

And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie. (2 Thess 2:2-11)

Judgment of God against Satan

“I, myself, have risen against him! I will destroy his children and his children’s children, so they can never sit on his throne. I will make Babylon into a desolate land, a place of porcupines, filled with swamps and marches. I will sweep the land with the broom of destruction. I, the Lord Almighty, have spoken!”

The Real Atlantis – LUCIFER Rising

The REAL ATLANTIS & LUCIFER RISING

Is this Atlantis?

These are the images which could show the fabled sunken city of Atlantis.

allthechildrenoflight-atlantisgooglemaps    allthechildrenoflight-underwateratlantis allthechildrenoflight-googlemaps2    allthechildrenoflight-googlemaps

It shows a perfect rectangle the size of Wales lying on the bed of the Atlantic Ocean nearly 3½ miles down.

A host of criss-crossing lines, looking like a map of a vast metropolis, are enclosed by the boundary.

They seem too vast and organised to be caused naturally.

And last night the possibility of an extraordinary discovery had oceanographers and geophysicists captivated.

The site lies 620 miles off the west coast of Africa near the Canary Islands — a location for Atlantis seemingly suggested by the ancient philosopher Plato.

He believed it was an island civilisation sunk by an earthquake and floods around 9,700BC — nearly 12,000 years ago.

The “grid” showed up on Google Ocean, a Google Earth extension that uses a combination of satellite images and marine surveys.

Last night Dr Charles Orser, curator of historical archaeology at New York State University — and one of the world’s leading authorities on Atlantis — called it “fascinating”.

He said: “The site is one of the most prominent places for the proposed location of Atlantis, as described by Plato. Even if it turns out to be geographical, this definitely deserves a closer look.”

The legend of Atlantis has captured the imagination of scholars for centuries.

And in the 1970s it spawned a hit TV series, Man From Atlantis, in which Patrick Duffy played a webbed hero who could live underwater.

Situated in an area called the Madeira Abyssal Plane, the grid was spotted by aeronautical engineer Bernie Bamford as he browsed through Google Ocean.

Bernie, 38, of Chester, said: “It looks like an aerial map of Milton Keynes. It must be man-made.”

Google today claimed the criss-crossing lines were sonar data collected as boats mapped the ocean floor.

But the internet giant said “blank spots” within the lines could not be explained.

A spokeswoman said: “Bathymetric (or sea floor terrain) data is often collected from boats using sonar to take measurements of the sea floor.

“The lines reflect the path of the boat as it gathers the data.

“The fact that there are blank spots between each of these lines is a sign of how little we really know about the world’s ocean

The True Origins of  Birthdays and Biblical References

Birthdays have an ancient origin stemming from magic and paganism, similar to the origins of Christmas and Halloween. This belief in spirits is the reason for many, if not all, of the traditional birthday customs that are practiced today. It was feared that evil spirits were particularly attracted to people on their birthdays. To protect them from harm, friends and family would to come be with the birthday person and bring good thoughts and wishes. Giving gifts brought even more good cheer to ward off the evil spirits. This is how birthday parties began.

QUICK HISTORY:

The custom of celebrating one’s birth was considered a pagan practice during the first and second centuries A.D. Because astrology was closely linked with the date of one’s birth, many early church fathers rejected the notion of honoring birthdays because astrology was condemned in the bible (Isaiah 47:13)
After the fourth century, celebrating one’s birth became a common practice, due largely in part to the Romans, who having practiced this custom for thousands of years, began to embrace Christianity.

The calendar we use today is not the same calendar that was used by the Hebrews.
Our birthday according the Georgian calendar is in fact our astrology date, because it does not fall on the same date as the Hebrew calendar every year. This is proven by the simple fact that every year the Hebrew feast days do not fall on the same day. When we acknowledge our birthday according to the Georgian calendar, we are letting people know our astrology date & not our actual birthday.

Demonic Pagan Customs & Self Idolatry

What does the bible say?

Deuteronomy 18:9
When thou art come into the land which YHWH thy Elohim giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.

10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.

11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto YHWH: and because of these abominations YHWH thy Elohim doth drive them out from before thee.

13 Thou shalt be perfect with YHWH thy Elohim.

14 For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, YHWH thy Elohim hath not suffered thee so to do.

Isaiah 47:13-14
You are wearied in the multitude of your counsels; Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, And the monthly prognosticators Stand up and save you From what shall come upon you. Behold, they shall be as stubble, The fire shall burn them; They shall not deliver themselves From the power of the flame.

The word Birthday is mentioned 2x’s in the Bible.
On both occasion, it was a Gentile celebration in which an negative event occurred.

PHARAOH’S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

Genesis 40:20-22
Now it came to pass on the third day, which was Pharaoh’s birthday, that he made a feast for all his servants; and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants. Then he restored the chief butler to his butlership again, and he placed the cup in Pharaoh’s hand. But he hanged the chief baker.

HEROD’S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

Matthew 14:
3 For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for Herodias’ sake, his brother Philip’s wife.
4 For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her.
5 And when he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet.6 But when Herod’s birthday was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod.
7 Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatsoever she would ask.
8 And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, Give me here John Baptist’s head in a charger.
9 And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath’s sake, and them which sat with him at meat, he commanded it to be given her.
10 And he sent, and beheaded John in the prison.11 And his head was brought in a charger, and given to the damsel: and she brought it to her mother.12 And his disciples came, and took up the body, and buried it, and went and told Yahushua

Ecclesiastes 7:1
A good name is better than precious ointment, and the day of death than the day of one’s birth.

We do not honor the Heavenly Father by celebrating birthday’s. Especially that of his son, which is Yahushua (Jesus). It is no surprise that his birthday & many other’s such as Abraham, Moses, Samuel, John the Baptist were not mentioned. It was never a custom to celebrate the birth of anyone.

Celebration Birthdays was a learned customs of the Pagans, which YHWH forbad us to follow…Learn not the ways of the Nations
Jer 10:1

Where did the custom of celebrating birthdays come from?  Did holy men of God in the Bible celebrate birthdays?  Is it wrong to celebrate the day of one’s birth?  What does the Bible say about birthdays?

Almost everybody, today, celebrates birthdays. Around the world, friends and relatives hold birthday parties, give gifts to the one being honored, and wish “Happy birthday!” to the one whose birthday is being celebrated.

But why?

Where did this universal custom originate?

Though you look in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, you will find no mention anywhere of any of the saints of God observing their birthdays.  In fact, strange as it may seem to many, even the exact date of the birth of Jesus Christ is NOWHERE REVEALED in Scripture!

We read in the Encyclopedia Judaica, “The celebration of birthdays is unknown in traditional Jewish ritual” (vol.4, p.1054).  It points out that the only reference to a birthday in the Bible is that of Pharaoh of Egypt.

The universal custom of observing Christmas as the birth of Christ, on December 25th, is acknowledged by all the historical authorities as having no basis in actual fact. Jesus Christ was born nowhere near December 25th, in the dead of winter.  See our article, “When Was Jesus Born?”

If the very day of Jesus’ birth is deliberately left out of the Bible, doesn’t that fact tell us something?  If birthdays should be celebrated, why did God leave the date of His own Son’s birth out of Holy Scripture?

The plain truth is that birth day celebrations are only mentioned twice in the Scriptures —  once in the Old Testament and once in the New Testament – and both times in reference to customs being observed by unconverted, pagan people — an Egyptian Pharaoh, and wicked king Herod!  Notice what happened on these two instances of “birth day celebrations” recorded in the Word of God.

Pharaoh of Egypt

In the book of Genesis we read: “And it came to pass the third day, which was PHARAOH’S  BIRTHDAY, that he made a feast [BIRTHDAY PARTY] unto all his servants: and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants. And he restored the chief butler unto his butlership again; and he gave the cup into Pharaoh’s hand: but he hanged the chief baker: as Joseph had interpreted to them” (Genesis 40:20-22).

Notice! This was a birthday party, nothing less! It was being observed by a pagan Egyptian Pharaoh — not a man of God. This is the only example of a clear cut birthday celebration in all the Old Testament — and it was being observed by a PAGAN KING!

The Origin of Birthdays

This fact, however, should not be overly surprising. Writes Linda Rannells Lewis in Birthdays, “Birthdays have been celebrated for thousands of years. In early civilizations, where the development of a calendar made an organized reckoning of birth dates possible, the horoscopes of ruling monarchs, their successors and rivals had to be cast with care and birthday omens meticulously examined, for the prospects of the mighty would affect the prospects of the entire society. By the time of Ptolemy V this practice was well established: ‘Ptolemy, the ever living, the beloved of Ptah, the son of the two Brother-Gods, was born on the fifth day of the month DIOS, and this day was, in consequence, the beginning of great prosperity and happiness of all living men and women’” (p. 12).

Ptolemy V was an ancient Egyptian king. It was common in his day for kings and rulers to have their horoscopes made by astrologers and their birthdays were considered very important omens of the future.

The false science of astrology, of course, makes a great deal out of the positions of the sun, moon and stars at the moment or day of one’s birth. Astrology teaches that the position of the sun, moon and stars at the moment of one’s birth determines their future destiny, their character, their personality, talents, health, and so forth. They cast horoscopes, or birth charts, to understand the supposed significance of a person’s birthday.

Astrology, as the Word of God plainly shows, is a pagan, false religious deception — a fraud and a mythological pseudo-science.

God Almighty says to the daughter of Babylon (Isa. 47:1), the great pagan religious deception which has engulfed the world, “Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the ASTROLOGERS, the star-gazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee. Behold, they shall be as STUBBLE; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame” (Isaiah 47:13-14).

Writes Lewis, in Birthdays, “Birthday celebrations, even at this early stage, were not strictly reserved for the great rulers. Society adapts for its communal use those practices of the elite which it admires and can afford. In the fifth century before Christ, the Greek historian Herodotus, describing the festivals of the Persians, wrote: ‘IT IS THEIR CUS-TOM TO HONOR THEIR BIRTHDAY ABOVE ALL OTHER DAYS: and on this day they furnish their table in a more plentiful manner than at other times. The rich then produce an ox, a horse, a camel, and an ass, roasted whole in an oven; but the poor produce smaller cattle.”

Lewis continues, “In Egypt households of the same period birthdays were celebrated similarly. A part of the family budget was set aside to buy birthday garlands and animals for sacrifice, just as we might plan to spend a certain sum for balloons, party hats, and an ice cream cake” (pages 12-13).

This author goes on, “Among prosperous Greek families a birth feast, a coming-of-age feast, and feasts after death held on the anniversary of the day of birth were observed, but otherwise there were no annual birthday ceremonials. The birthdays of the immortals were ritually acknowledged once a month, however, the third day of each month being sacred to Athena, Ares, and Saturn, for instance” (ibid.).

The emperors of Rome often went to extreme in their own birthday celebrations. When the first birthday of Drusilla, the daughter of Caligula, approached, the emperor arranged a party suitable for the infant daughter of a “god” (himself). To celebrate her birthday, two days of horse racing were held, and a ritual slaughter of 300 bears, and 500 various beasts from Libya, in the amphitheater of Taurus, washeld.

The Command of God

What does Almighty God say to His people about celebrating such days in honor of one’s own self, and one’s own individual ego?

The whole message of God is to teach us to humble ourselves, and to love our neighbor as we love ourselves – to get rid of ego and self-centeredness.  Birthdays have the opposite effect.  They concentrate the attention on the birthday person, glorifying him – not God – and exalting him – not God – and having people bring him presents.  Thus paying “homage” to the birthday child.  This is the height of conceit and fosters a spirit of get, selfishness, and self-worship.  Self, self, self!  The whole extravaganza creates pride and lofty conceit in selfishness in a child.  The typical birthday party is therefore one of the deceptions of the devil, made to look attractive and nice on the outside, but full of wickedness on the inside.

We have already seen the proof that these celebrations were distinctly pagan in origin. But does it make any difference whether we observe birthdays or not?

If our purpose is to build godly and holy offspring and loving, giving, godly children, then we should want to do NOTHING that would hinder this godly purpose – put no temptations in their pathway – do nothing to encourage them to think too highly of themselves in pride and arrogance.  Rather, we should teach them to give, to serve, to be humble, to revere God and His Word, and to love other children and seek to help, serve, and honor them.   Giving is much better than “getting.”  Cain was named “Get,” for his name meant “gotten,” as Eve said, “I have gotten a man-child from the Lord” (Gen.4:1).

Birthday celebrations were definitely of pagan origin.  Should God’s people emulate the pagans and pagan societies around them?

God inspired the prophet Jeremiah to write,I in plain terms,  “Hear ye the word which the Lord speaketh unto you, O house of Israel: Thus saith the Lord, LEARN NOT  THE  WAY OF THE HEATHEN, and be not dismayed at the signs of the heaven (astrology!); for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the CUSTOMS OF THE PEOPLE ARE VAIN” (Jeremiah 10:1-3).

Clearly, Almighty God commands His people not to follow in the ways, customs, and practices of the heathen, pagan nations around them!  Obviously, therefore, the Word of God does NOT sanction or approve of public birthday celebrations or birthday parties!

God is even more plain in His Word. Celebrating birthdays with lavish birthday parties was a pagan Egyptian custom. God commands His people, “After the DOING OF THE LAND OF EGYPT, wherein ye dwelt, SHALL YE NOT DO: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances” (Leviticus 18:3).

God goes on, in this same chapter, after listing more of the evil practices of the heathen, “DEFILE YE NOT YOURSELVES IN ANY OF THESE THINGS: for in all these the nations are defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself VOMITETH out her inhabitants.”

“Ye shall therefore keep MY statutes and MY judgments” — which did NOT include birthday celebrations! – “and shall NOT COMMIT ANY OF THESE ABOMINATIONS; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you: (For all these ABOMINATIONS have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;) That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you” (Leviticus 18:24-28).

Does this sound strong?   Almighty God does not sanction, approve or endorse ANY of the pagan customs of the nations of the world! They are an ABOMINATION to Him!  Birthday parties may seem so innocent and good on the surface, for the children, but all is not as it seems on the surface.  Parents, beware!  If you truly love your children then raise them according to GOD’s customs and teachings!  This will protect them from the temptations of the devil, vanity, pride, arrogance, and self-centeredness!

God feels very strongly about these kinds of things which foster selfishness, pride, ego, and arrogance.  He commands His people, “Therefore shall ye keep MINE ordinance, that ye commit not any one of these ABOMINABLE CUSTOMS, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am the Lord your God” (Leviticus 18:29-30).  Although the customs being discussed in this chapter of Leviticus dealt primarily with religious worship and pagan religious customs, by extension the same principle would apply to pagan derived birthday customs.

Most of the customs God mentioned in Leviticus 18 were abominable sexual practices common among the heathen, and common in the world around us, today. But verse 3 of this chapter says we are not to do “after the doings of the land of EGYPT.”

This clearly shows that the celebrations of BIRTHDAYS, so common in Egypt, was among the prohibitions of Almighty God!  We are not to follow those misleading customs which direct attention to oneself in a frivolous display of VANITY and self-centered egotism and pride!  Pride, remember, was the cause for the downfall of Lucifer, the archangel or cherubim who rebelled against God.  “Your heart was proud because of your beauty,” God said, “you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor” (Ezek.28:17).  For his pride and overweening self-centeredness, God says, “I cast you to the ground” (v.18).

Let us fear God and KEEP His commandments!

What About New Testament Times?

Even as there is only one example of birthday celebrations in the Old Testament, so the New Testament also gives us only one such example — that of the wicked, apostate king Herod, one of the worst butchers who ever lived.

Herod was notorious for his wickedness. He was a complete pagan at heart. Notice! He celebrated his own birthday, and see what happened!

“But when Herod’s BIRTHDAY WAS KEPT, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod.” The entertainment at his birthday party included a very erotic, sensual dance, very likely a strip tease of some sort.  Herod was fascinated by the gyrations and movements of the lithe young female dancer, his wife’s daughter.

“Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatsoever she would ask. And she, being instructed of her mother, said, Give me here John the Baptist’s head in a charger.”

“And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath’s sake, and them which sat with him at meat, he commanded it to be given her. And he sent, and beheaded John in the prison. And his head was brought in a charger, and given to the damsel: and she brought it to her mother. And his disciples came, and took up the body, and buried it, and went and told Jesus” (Matthew 14:6-12).  Here again, at a pagan birthday party, somebody was killed — this time it was one of God’s greatest servants, John the Baptizer!

And this occurred all because of a birthday party!

It should be plain that true servants of God do not observe their birthdays and make a “big deal” out of them, or hold parties to celebrate them.  The pagans do – but not true Christians or followers of the Messiah, who seek His blessing on their activities!

Should Christians celebrate birthdays? Obviously, the answer from the Word of God is a resounding NO! Birthdays are one more Satanic deception, like Christmas and Easter, which foster and inculcate the wrong kind of spirit and demeanor in a child.  Therefore such an observance is an abomination in the sight of God. Birthday celebrations are not among the Biblical customs of the Bible

The fact is, the Bible is totally SILENT on the date of the birth of every single servant of God, including Abraham, Noah, Moses, Samuel, David, the apostles, and most important of all, Jesus Christ Himself!

In God’s sight, the actual time and day of a person’s birth is not the important thing.  Wise king Solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes, under divine inspiration, “A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of birth” (Ecclesiastes 7:1, NRSV).

The Early Church

The day of one’s birth is not the important thing.  It is merely the beginning of our life’s journey.  What is important is what we DO with our lives, not how or where we begin.

The early Church of God understood this fact. Lewis writes in Birthdays, “When the Christian church sought to substitute the authority of a religious hierarchy for the hegemony of the individual ego, BIRTHDAYS BECOME UNWELCOME REMINDERS OF PAGAN EXCESS and the degradation assumed in Adam’s heritage. Celebrating the self was bad” (p.14).

Origen of Alexandria, in 245 A.D., wrote in a dissertation on Leviticus:

“None of the saints can be found who ever held a feast or a banquet upon his birthday,                 or rejoiced on the day when his son or daughter was born. But sinners rejoice and make                   merry on such days. For we find in the Old Testament that Pharaoh, king of Egypt,                 celebrated his birthday with a feast, and that Herod, in the New Testament did the                same. But the saints not only neglect to mark the day of their birth with festivity, but                  also, filled with the Holy Spirit, they curse this day, after the example of Job and               Jeremiah and David.

For the true Christian, this life is a life of struggle and overcoming. The flesh is weak and prone to sin and lust. The carnal human mind is enmity against God (Romans 8:7). We must learn to throttle, subjugate, and subdue the pulls of the flesh, by the power of God’s Spirit (Romans 7:1-25; 8:1-14).

Therefore, we do not celebrate the day we put on this fleshly tabernacle, but rather the day when we will put it off, and be clothed upon with a NEW BODY, pure and perfect, from heaven (Romans 8:22-23). In the meantime “we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body” (verse 23).

The Christian Attitude

For the true Christian, this life is a life of trials and tests. As David wrote, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous” (Psalms 34:19).  And the apostle Paul declared, “We must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God” (Acts 14:22).

The apostle Paul also wrote, “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.”

“For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh” (II Cor.4:8-11).

For Christians, this present mortal life is not an end in itself.  It is filled with trials, tests, troubles, and pains.  We do not celebrate our birth into the “vail of tears,” but we celebrate our NEW BIRTH in CHRIST which will occur at the resurrection, when the Messiah returns!  Our hope is for the coming of Christ, and the resurrection!

Because we suffer greatly and often, in the flesh, we do not glory in the flesh, or in the day of our fleshly birth. It is of no consequence. But we look to the future, not to the past, and to the Kingdom ofGod!  As Paul wrote, “For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; while we look not at the things which are seen (the physical around us), but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal” (II Cor. 4:16-18).

This present physical life, therefore, is a proving ground.  It is like going to school.  We don’t graduate until death, or until the coming of the Lord!  Do people celebrate when they begin to go to school or college?  Or don’t they celebrate when they GRADUATE AND GET THEIR DIPLOMA?  Merely beginning life is nothing to boast about!  It is where we end up that really counts!

Paul wrote, in the very next chapter of II Corinthians, “For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens. For in this we GROAN, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is FROM HEAVEN. . . For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being BURDENED: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of LIFE” (II Cor. 5:1-4).

As Paul wrote in I Corinthians, “But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: and if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain” (I Cor. 15:13-14).

Paul felt so strongly about this fact, that he declared, “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men MOST MISERABLE” (verse 19). But our hope is not for this life!  Paul went on, “But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept” (v. 20).

This entire chapter shows us that the true hope of the Christian is the resurrection of the dead, when we shall all “be changed. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be CHANGED. For this corruption must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality” (I Cor. 15:51-52).

That is the day we will celebrate — not our physical birthdays, when we were literally born into a lifetime of struggle, trials, suffering, death, misery, and privation, persecution, strife, and pain. Not at all! We look forward to and celebrate the second coming of Christ, and the resurrection of the dead saints which will occur at His coming!

As Paul wrote to the Philipians, “Yea, doubtless, and I count all things but LOSS for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord; for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but DUNG, that I may win Christ…That I may know him, and the POWER of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead” (Phil. 3:8, 10-11).

This was Paul’s one ambition, one driving desire, in life. He declared, “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, FORGETTING THOSE THINGS WHICH ARE BEHIND (such as birthdays!), and REACHING FORTH unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” (Phil. 3:13-14).

This present life is as nothing.  It is full of pain and suffering. If we follow Christ, then we will suffer as He suffered, leaving us an example (I Peter 4:13; 2:21). But the end result — the eternal reward ahead of us — makes it all worthwhile!

During this life we experience the “fellowship of his sufferings” (Phil. 3:11). We are one with Him in suffering, that we might become one with Him in glory and eternal life!

Paul wrote, “Who shall CHANGE OUR VILE BODY, that it might be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself” (Phil. 3:21).

How much greater this is, than celebrating our birthdays of this fragile, temporary, transitory, weak, clay, human existence!

Avoid Pagan Birthdays

The World Book — Childcraft International says regarding “Holidays and Birthdays,” “For thousands of years people all over the world have thought of a birthday as a very special day. Long ago, people believed that on a birthday a person could be helped by good spirits, or hurt by evil spirits. So, when a person had a birthday, friends and relatives gathered to protect him or her. And that’s how birthday parties began.”

“The idea of putting candles on birthday cakes goes back to ancient Greece. The Greeks worshipped many gods and goddesses. Among them was one called Artemis.

“Artemis was the goddess of the moon. The Greeks celebrated her birthday once each month by bringing special cakes to her temple. The cakes were round like a full moon. And, because the moon glows with light, the cakes were decorated with lighted candles.”

This authority goes on:

“More and more, though, people the world over attach a certain magic to their actual date of birth. . . We may wear a ring with our birthstone in it for good luck. And when we blow out the candles on our birthday cake, we are careful to keep what we wished a secret. If we tell, of course, our wish won’t come true.

“In other words, WE FOLLOW MANY OF THE OLD BIRTHDAY BELIEFS. We pay attention to the meanings of old-time birth symbols. And WE CARRY ON THE OLD CELEBRATIONS. We don’t necessarily take them seriously. We do these things mainly for fun. But it is also possible that there is something deep inside us that wants to believe.”

Why do people say, “Happy birthday!” to each other? Says this authority, “For the good wishes of our friends and relatives are supposed to protect us from evil spirits.”

What about birthday thumps, bumps, pinches, and the like?

“In many parts of the world, it is a tradition to give the birthday child pinches, smacks, spanks, thumps, bumps, or punches. Even though they may hurt a little, they are said to be very lucky. . .

“The reason for birthday spanks is to spank away any evil spirits and send them scurrying far into the distance. Punches, thumps, and pinches, the harder the better, are supposed to do the very same thing. . .

Party snappers, horns, bursting balloons, firecrackers, and other noisemakers are just one more way of trying to scare off any bad-luck spirits that may be hovering about.”

What about traditional birthday games, such as “Pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey”?

“The games we play at birthday parties are often a symbol of trying to know the unknown.  In this case, of course, the unknown is the future, or the new year of life that lies ahead for the birthday child.

“One of the oldest birthday games is Pin-the-Tail-on-the-Donkey. A large picture of a donkey without a tail is pinned to the wall.  Each child at the party is given a donkey’s tail made out of paper and a pin to stick through it.  Then, one by one, the children are blindfolded. They are spun around a few times and pointed in the general direction of the donkey. The child who pins the tail the closest to where it should be on the donkey wins the prize.

“There are other versions of this game, such as Pin-the Nose-on-the-Clown or Pin-the-Ear-on-the-Bunny. But the idea of trying to guess correctly, while blindfolded, is the same.”

All these customs and traditions connected with the observance of birthdays have to do with guessing the future, good wishes for the future, good luck charms against evil spirits, and the like. All the birthday rituals, games, and ceremonies are a form of well-wishing toward the birthday child, which are supposed to work their magic in the year ahead.

But, as we have seen, the custom is totally PAGAN!  The ceremonies and games involve warding off evil spirits and protecting the birthday child from evil.  These are pagan customs – vain and foolish rituals — nothing but useless pagan SUPERSTITION!

Should God’s people have anything to do with ceremonies that trace back ancient pagan societies and pagan times, involving pagan practices?  Should a true Christian indulge himself or his or her children in pagan birthday parties, just because they seem so attractive, fun, and “innocuous”?

The Word of God thunders, “What fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

“And what agreement hath the temple of God with IDOLS? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

“Wherefore COME OUT FROM AMONG THEM, and BE YE SEPARATE, saith the Lord, and touch not the UNCLEAN THING; and I will receive you, and I will be a father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty” (II Corinthians 6:14-18).

Let’s look at this custom objectively.  Why should we subject our children to it?  All the comparisons, who gets the best present, competition, and strife that inevitably follows?  Let’s ge honst and face it. In God’s sight, birthday parties and celebrations are not clean, honest, honorable, fun things to do.  They are unclean things – and lead a child in the wrong direction.  They turn people away from the truths of God and idolize the SELF.  Therefore, as Christians, we should have nothing whatsoever to do with them!

A Balanced Approach

Having said this, we must remember that our neighbors don’t know these things or see things things like we do.  They think it’s all innocent fun.  Even other members of our own families may think the same way.  They wonder why we won’t participate in these things – “for the children.”

Although we don’t want to compromise the word of God, or ever do anything He tells us to avoid, that does not mean we need to offend other people, or set a wrong example toward them.  We should always be gracious, and kind, and loving of others, and patient with them, avoiding unnecessary controversy and arguments.

If a family member or relative has a birthday, and invites you, you can simply explain the situation, and your own beliefs, in a humble, positive manner.  And decline the invitation.

However, if the other family or individual says there is not going to be anything pagan, or the usual birthday customs, that it is merely a time to get together for family fellowship, or friendship, for a nice meal, with a cake, and that it is just a family event, that would not necessarily be wrong.  We should not go overboard in these things.

Solomon also wrote, “Do not be too righteous, and do not act too wise; why should you destroy yourself?  Do not be too wicked, and do not be a fool; why should you die before your time?” (Ecclesiastes 7:16-17, NRSV).

Always be discreet, modest, and friendly, in dealing with people.  Attending a simple family dinner on one’s birthday, where family members give a present to honor one member’s birthday, is not the same thing as holding a birthday bash and inviting all the kids in the neighborhood, or a big political event, or a huge public celebration.

A small family affair, just for the family, I believe, would be all right in God’s sight, with no emphasis on the birthday itself or any pagan trappings.  Sometimes it may seem difficult to get our balance in these things, but we can do it if we persevere, and do all things in love and wisdom.

We don’t need to fall into the ditch along the right hand side of the road, or plunge into the ditch alongside the left hand side of the road, either.  We should simply use caution – take care – be careful – and be prayerful – a draw a line between right and wrong.  A simple dinner, with a few presents for your loved one (son, daughter, father, mother, etc.), would be perfectly in line with God’s Word.  For God does command us, “Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you” (Exodus 20:12).

And Paul also says, “And father, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord” (see Ephesians 6:1-4).  “Fathers, do not provoke your children or they may lose heart” (Colossians 3:21).

Children, be good to your parents; and you parents, be good to your children.  Don’t deny them good things.  And to give them something special on their birthday is perfectly all right.  Just be sure you don’t allow it to become a pagan “birthday party” or “birthday celebration” of the sort which has wrong connotations and creates the wrong atmosphere and imparts the wrong kind of influence.

Keep God’s principles in mind.  Be balanced!  Avoid excess!  Avoid any and all pagan trappings or anything resembling evil.  But on the other hand, don’t be afraid to give something nice to a family member or relative on their day birth or any other day of the year.

The Holy Spirit inspired Jude

The Holy Spirit inspired Jude to quote Enoch for a reason. The Ancient Book of Enoch opens by addressing those in the Tribulation period. It contains numerous prophecies about the flood and fire judgments, and the two comings of the Messiah.

Messiah is the Son of God…”

It teaches that the Messiah is the Son of God (Enoch 105.2) and that He will shed His blood to redeem us and even predicts the generation that this would occur! The book of Enoch prophesies a window of time in which the Second Coming would occur and prophesies that there will be twenty-three Israeli Prime Ministers ruling in fifty-eight terms from AD 1948 to the beginning of the Tribulation period, and much more. Even though it prophecies that the Bible would be created and says we will be judged by our obedience to the Bible, it also makes it clear that this book is not to be added to the Canon of Scripture. The Ancient Book of Enoch recounts the history of the angels that fell in the days of Jared, Enoch’s father. It testifies to their marriages with human women and their genetic experiments. This commentary includes a previously unknown chapter from the Dead Sea Scrolls that actually explains how they did their genetic tampering. The commentary is from a fundamentalist Christian view, brought to you by Biblefacts Ministries, biblefacts.org.

Enoch the 7th from Adam..”

There are many references to apocryphal books throughout the Old & New Testaments. Jude calls Enoch the 7th from Adam, meaning the book is Pre-Flood in origin. Scholars disagree, taking a position. James quotes a passage outside of the New Testament AS SCRIPTURE to his readers, meaning he held books outside the OT as Scripture, but Scholars discount his testimony. Paul borrows the famous “Armor of God” illustration from Wisdom 5. There are many more. The NT writers did not believe as the Church does about these books.

The Races of The Fallen Angels

* Emim (“the fearful ones”)
* Rephaim (“the dead ones”)
* Anakim (“the [long]-necked ones”)
